What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager, Bakery position at IFF?
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual with an intimate knowledge of the bakery industry to fulfill our Bakery Account Manager position. The Bakery Account Manager will directly manage key bakery accounts in the US market. You would serve as the primary face to the industry, representing all Bakery and Food ingredients while maintaining and growing existing business and initiating new opportunities in the bakery space. Success in this role will be achieved by:
- A solid understanding of the bakery customer network and bakery industry trends
- Develop thorough knowledge of the full range of IFF product offerings
- Providing input and knowledge to the Bakery Sales team
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Drive sales policies and programs to meet sales and profit goals established for the US region
- Manage and build relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders both externally with customers and internally at IFF
- Actively participate in local associations and trade organizations
- Align the activities of bakery innovations, applications group, Marketing and BU’s with the Bakery Strategy
- Provide technical/application information to customers in collaboration with our innovations and technical groups
- Interact continuously with regional and global leadership, BU leaders, Product Line Managers and Innovations and Applications leaders
- Establish a customer back approach that creates value for the customer and IFF
- Maintain a resilient can-do mentality and drive actions to deliver on customer expectations
You will be a great fit for this position if you can fulfill the following qualifications:
- Four (4) year university or college degree in food science, bakery science or other life science curriculum
- Proven experience with at least 5 years of sales experience
- Strong demonstrated competency in Sales, Marketing or Development roles
- Deep understanding of the Selling Process
- American Institute of Baking certification would be a plus
- Intimate knowledge of the bakery industry which includes bread, buns, cookies, crackers and sweet goods
- Technical marketing and/or product sales related to selling functional food ingredients
- Demonstrated skills in Negotiations, Strategic Planning and Execution
- Experience is sales pipeline management with salesforce.com or similar CRM
- Skilled communicator that works effectively in a team environment and who can communicate to a matrix of groups including senior leadership, technical, marketing and finance
- This position may require up to 50% travel
