IFP Automation is searching for a proficient Electrical Design Engineer experienced in designing and choosing components for industrial control panels. This career opportunity is preferably located in our Ft Wayne manufacturing facility, where our UL 508a certified industrial control panel manufacturing center is located.

The engineering team at IFP consists of a talented group of diverse individuals dedicated to tackling intricate challenges. We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who is motivated, innovative, and adept at collaborating in small teams, capable of managing multiple projects of varying complexities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
The successful candidate will :
- Design and develop Industrial Electrical Control Panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Perform sizing and selection for electrical equipment.
- Create, maintain, and revise electrical drawings.
- Manage Bills of Material for both existing and new projects.
- Correspond with the electrical fabrication technicians.
- Perform equipment testing in-house or at remote locations.
- Coordinate project activities with other engineers, outside vendors / contractors, and customers.
- Produce clear and timely documentation.
- Ensure that installation and operation conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, applicable codes, and customer requirements.
- Preparing specifications for purchasing electrical equipment and materials.
- Includes limited travel to local installations. Typically, it does not require any overnights.
- Training is available in a number of the products we work with and can be offered to the right candidate, depending upon the candidate’s background.
Qualifications :
3 years of design experience with industrial control panels.
Knowledge of hazardous location wiring methodologies following domestic and international codes and standards.
