Description
The production operator works in all positions in the warehouse. These can include, Compounding/ batch making and blends chemical batches by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Weighs quantities of materials for use in the manufacturing processes.
- Places loose or packaged material on scales and adds or removes portions of material to obtain specified weight.
- Reads work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh and procedure to be followed for manufacturing process.
- Records weight of materials used for production records and maintains perpetual inventory of materials used and on hand by recording and marking drums.
- Dumps materials in prescribed sequence into vat, hopper or mixing pot.
- Monitor and log time and temperature as specified on Batch ticket.
- Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
- Transfers weighed materials to production or storage areas.
- Records information such as weight, type of product, date and batch number of products produced.
- Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of manufacturing process.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine duties.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Additional requirements for the position also include but are not limited to:
- Follow all safety guidelines and processes
- Speak, read and write English effectively
- Learn to use and operate scan guns to report and control inventories
- Able to lift 55 lbs. bags in a constant rhythm
- Physically able to work 8 hrs. shift (3 shifts – must be open to working any shift)
- Possess minimum math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Being able to work in a hot and dusty environment (safety PPE provided)
- Have reliable transportation
- Lean and practice Lean Manufacturing Techniques
- Complete required safety training
- Dependable
- Must wear required safety PPE
- Drive to succeed and grow within the organization
- Be willing and able to learn to operate forklift safely.
- Standing, walking production area, lifting, bending, climbing stairs, required for duration of shift.
- HS Diploma or equivalent GED
