VP Product Management AD

Job Description

As VP Product Management in Aerospace and Defense, you will report into the Global CTO and SVP R&D and you are responsible for :

• Leading and developing a Product Management team, providing technical vision and business strategy
• Influencing and driving a global R&D team to drive execution of our product strategy
• Defining the strategy for our products in A&D in alignment with the IFS Corporate Strategy and the overall IFS product strategy
• Leading the product management function in A&D from understanding the market need, to ideation, to enablement and evangelism with a view to expanding the success of our A&D product portfolio, and driving growth in our market share

You are ultimately accountable for the results of your team within 3 areas :

Leadership

You recruit, build, lead, direct and coach your team to high performance. You strive to be the best possible leader by encouraging ongoing mutual feedback, appraising your direct reports and working with your heartbeat scores to continuously improve your leadership strengths and team results. Strategy

You have a good understanding of the wider IFS and R&D strategy and are able to communicate around that at all times. Based on that, you formulate a strategy for your team and a and support the development of a strategic plan that enables the broader A&D team to execute accordingly. You maintain awareness of the external competitive landscape, customers, markets and new industry development and standards and use that to ongoingly update your strategic plan. You engage with customers where relevant and adopt modern technology to meet business goals and solve customer pain points. You demonstrate thought leadership and express ideas and opinions within your field or area of expertise utilizing your internal and external network, social media or other means to increase your authority and influence. You are passionate about IFS as a company and your field of expertise and evangelize internally and externally sharing success stories and experiences with the organization and field.

Execution

You ensure your leadership team and your peers in R&D are focused on execution towards the strategic plan and support them to overcome any obstacles. You and your team continuously evaluate our current and future product investments to ensure that IFS is mobilizing our investment capital in the optimal way to deliver return to the business. You understand the need for you and your team to get involved in and contribute to cross cutting initiatives across R&D and adopt the standards, policies and procedures agreed by the SLT. You understand the dependencies and support alignment and collaboration between the various product groups, teams and units where necessary. You are a role model when it comes to breaking down silos and look to continuously improve your own and others’ ways of working. You are comfortable taking decisions and ensure that you and your team or unit run towards the fire when there is an issue and take accountability for your actions and results. You are a front runner when it comes to managing change, ensuring transparent communication and shifting left.
