What Will I Do In This Role?
- Check Quality, Width, Pattern of all running ribbons at least twice per shift
- Verifies that all catch cord and fillings are correct (follows correct steps if problem is found)
- Keeps open communication of Quality Issues between upstairs and downstairs
- Communicates Quality issues with Weavers and Fixers through to completion
- Makes sure that yarn dye and griege good startup sequence is being followed and swatches are applied
- Walks all looms and ensures wraps are being cut off
- Fills out and distributes tie in sheets to the appropriate staff
- Help maintain housekeeping
- Communicate issues with oncoming team leads and Management when necessary
- Opening and closing Plant as needed
- Verify that all warp outs and startups are recorded correctly on the warp out sheet paperwork and checks the Warp Out Board at shift start to ensure that fixers are doing their loom startups.
- Keeps track of smash out bards and verify looms put up have more than 12 ends out
- Ensures that start ups are recorded and that fixers do not leave with ends broken out
- Accurately uses AS400 for Warps and Locations
- Fills out tie in sheets and puts a copy in both Managers and Team lead boxes
- Coach peers on DG policies and document when needed, including but not limited to: PPE, Quality, Schedules, and Safety
- Check attendance and move operators where needed with open communication with leads and Management
- Promote continuous performance and quality improvement efforts, monitoring and reporting processes.
- Assign personnel effectively to meet production targets and maintain workflow consistency during the shift.
- Interpret Company policies and production procedures to shift personnel and assure they are followed.
- Solve problems as they arise on shift and make decisions based on Company policy.
- Recommend and implement disciplinary action on shift employees according to Company policies after reviewing all the circumstances.
- Keep the Manager informed, on a timely basis, of department activities and any problem situations
- In case of an accident, must contact PC365, fill out accident report and follow accident flow chart
- All other duties assigned by management
- High School Diploma or GE
- Must be to read and write and be mechanically inclined.
- Previous weaving skills a plus
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be knowledgeable or able to learn looms and be able to prioritize jobs needing attention.
- Must be efficient and effective
- Must be able to lift packages of yarn overhead.
- Must be able to stand the majority of shift and have manual dexterity
- Good organizational skills and must be mechanically inclined
- Must be able to work individually and on teams
