What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Store Manager position at IGHL?
The Home Store Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Home Store Manager in all aspects and organizational duties of the Home Store, as well as assuring Home Store compliance with all company policies and procedures, and to function as the Manager in the Manager’s absence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
E- Connotes Essential Functions
E-1 Work with the Manager to oversee the work of employees, providing guidance, and ensuring that tasks are completed and to a high standard.
E-2 Oversee donation procurement using ThriftCart, liaise with ThriftCart to keep software running at most efficient level.
E-3 Develop relationships with corporate and commercial accounts and solicit recurring donations for the Angela’s House Home Store.
E-4 Oversee the daily routing for the Angela’s House Home Store truck and any other vehicles added to the fleet.
E-5 Oversee the drivers and helpers for the Angela’s House Home Store.
E-6 Conduct daily inspection of new donations to ensure driver(s) are following guidelines of what should/should not be accepted, and provide guidance and suggestions to driver(s) when there are issues.
E-7 Oversee the volunteer program including coordination of scheduling, assigning tasks and any related documentation needed for volunteer status, including the Department of Labor individuals and groups.
E-8 Provides training on Customer Service to all staff to ensure shoppers have the best experience.

E-9 Provides recommendations and teaches staff in regards to pricing to all incoming merchandise and the ticketing staff, including merchandising as needed
E-10 Function as the Manager during the Manager’s absence.
E-11 Operate the cash register in the cashier’s absence and as needed during the business day.
E-12 Open and close the facility when scheduled to work.
E-13 Work on the sales floor and assist customers as needed during the business day.
E-14 Work with social media manager to ensure timely answers to questions, add content to stories and posts as needed.
E-15 Function as liaison with Tradeworks account, sending relevant information to the Director of Development in a timely fashion.
E-16 Interface with donors, customers and volunteers in an efficient, professional and friendly manner.
E-17 Explain to donors, customers and volunteers the Home Store mission and it’s role in supporting the work of Angela’s House and the medically fragile children the charity assists.
E-18 Maintain a clean and safe store.
E-19 All other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
A. High School Diploma or GED required
B. Retail experience preferred
C. Ability to work in a safe manner
D. Ability to repeatedly lift and move 50 pounds or more during the course of loading, unloading and processing of donations
E. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
F. Ability to organize and detail oriented
G. Forklift experience preferred
H. Ability to be flexible and adapt to a variety of work situations and interruptions
I. Flexibility with work days and work hours may be required
