JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Identity & Access Administrator to lead and manage the Identity and Access Management (IAM) program for our client. This role is responsible for securing user access, reducing vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in IAM best practices, security frameworks, and emerging threats, with experience in identity governance and access controls.
Key Responsibilities
IAM Program Management – Plan, implement, and maintain the identity and access management services across the organization, ensuring alignment with security policies and compliance standards.
Access Control & Governance – Manage user access to systems, applications, and sensitive data, define user roles, analyze access needs, and monitor entitlements to minimize security risks.
Compliance & Risk Assessments – Conduct IAM risk assessments, audits, and compliance checks; prepare reports and implement necessary updates to access management systems.
Security & Threat Management – Monitor vulnerabilities, implement security measures, and provide input on security requirements for procurement documents (RFPs, SOWs).
User Training & Policy Enforcement – Educate employees on IAM policies and best practices while ensuring compliance with security requirements.
Incident Response – Investigate security incidents related to access management, recommend corrective actions, and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) or a related IT security field.
- Experience with IAM tools such as Active Directory, LDAP, and Azure AD.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Java, Python, and PowerShell
- Familiarity with SQL databases and security frameworks.
Technical Skills
Certifications (Preferred)
Additional Requirements
Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record. A 10-year driving history will be required.
Must pass a national fingerprint-based background check due to access to criminal justice databases (CJIS, NCIC / TCIC)
Hybrid work schedule with on-call availability 2 days per month
