Pediatric Behavioral Health Consultant
Location: Hybrid (Work from home and 2 days in-office)
Salary Range: $95,000 - $160,000 per year (based on experience)

We are seeking a compassionate Pediatric Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and their families. In this hybrid role, you’ll provide behavioral health services through a collaborative, integrated care model alongside a dedicated team of pediatric primary care providers. Your expertise will help guide families in navigating emotional, social, and mental health needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
What You’ll Do:
Direct Patient Care
- Offer brief, targeted psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and their families, addressing concerns identified by primary care providers
- Perform initial and ongoing behavioral health assessments, creating personalized care plans tailored to young patients
- Identify and address any social, emotional, or economic factors impacting pediatric well-being
- Provide compassionate therapy, focusing on whole-child care, in both individual and family contexts
- Help manage co-occurring behavioral health conditions, integrating them into patient care plans
- Deliver crisis management and psychoeducation to children, adolescents, and their families, empowering them for better mental health
- Conduct “warm hand-offs” when transitioning pediatric patients between providers
- Respect and honor each patient’s unique psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural beliefs
- Follow team protocols for referrals, follow-ups, and quality assurance
- Assess developmental milestones in children and provide guidance on age-appropriate expectations and interventions when delays are identified
Collaborative Team Support
- Work closely with pediatric primary care providers to integrate behavioral health into medical treatment plans
- Participate in team activities and quality improvement initiatives to support our mission
- Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and families
- Join case conferences, trainings, and team meetings to stay connected with our mission and continuously improve
- Uphold the values of collaboration and teamwork to ensure the success of the organization
Regulatory Compliance & Professional Growth
- Follow BHC protocols and participate in credentialing processes
- Stay current with continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance professional skills
- Document legible, legally sound medical records in a timely manner
What You Bring:
- A Doctorate degree in psychology (with a valid CA Psychology License) or a Master’s degree in social work (LCSW), marriage and family therapy (LMFT), or counseling (LPCC) with a valid California license
- At least 2 years of experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and/or families
- Experience with pediatric health-related psychotherapy, such as supporting children with chronic medical conditions, anxiety, depression, or behavioral issues
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred but not required
- A passion for working in an interdisciplinary team and providing compassionate care
