Job Summary:
The Regulatory Manager is responsible for ensuring that products comply with Federal, Local
and appropriate International regulatory standards, along with Chosen Foods’ internal
regulations. Responsible for overseeing the coordination and submission of regulatory
documentations, certification applications and audit reports. Responsible for supporting day to
day regulatory/compliance/ certification activities. Responsible for writing, reviewing and
approving, controlled documentations that involve regulatory or certification compliance.
Responsibilities:
- • Ensuring Chosen Foods is in compliance with all agencies FDA registration, CFIA
- registrations, CDPH Registration, California department of health registrations, and
- Certificates of Free Sale.
- • Manage the FSVP Program for Chosen and assist co-packers with FSVP compliance.
- • Manage Correspondence and timeline with RegistarCorp. (or equivalent contractor) for
- FSVP compliance for all new suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- • Own Correspondence and timeline with to approve Canadian labels with external
- contractor
- • Manage communications with contract manufacturers and regulatory agencies, to
- coordinate and manage all certifications including non-GMO, kosher, organic and gluten
- free.
- • Interface with agencies for customs and export documentation requirements.
- • Act as an in-house expert on regulatory requirements for customer/consumer support.
- • Lead product claims and marketing materials substantiation.
- • Create nutritional labels and ingredient statements with contract manufacturers using
- GENESIS.
- • Conduct label review for formatting, size of print, artwork, nutritional panel, allergen,
- certification emblem, and claims are accurate.
- • Maintenance of contract manufacturer’s suppliers list and ingredient specifications for
- certification and FSVP compliance.
- • Review warehouse documentation to ensure compliance to FDA registration, food safety
- regulation and finished product certification.
- • Organize all regulatory, certification and compliance documentation in SharePoint by
- Contract manufacturer and finished product. Assure regulatory and certification
- documentation is up to date and readily available.
- • Manage closing out findings from regulatory audits with the assist of cross functional
- team.
- • Support contract manufacturer as needed with customer audits and corrective actions
- and confirm they are closed out.
- • Update status of regulatory compliance, certifications and label review for cross
- functional teams within Chosen Foods and contract manufacturer.
- HR USE ONLY Rev. 06/2022• Send a minimum of weekly communications with updates for pending certifications and
- label review; project delays and new timelines for completion as appropriate.
- • Keep up to date with regulatory news from the FDA and CFIA to advise Chosen Foods
- of new regulations and actions needed for compliance.
Professional Qualifications:
- • Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Sciences or equivalent.
- • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in food regulatory compliance and certifications.
- • Expert Written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- • Expert project management to deliver results within appropriate timeframes.
- • Firsthand experience with regulatory and certification audits.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is performed inside a temperature-controlled office building with open floor plan. This job
operates in a professional office environment with a business casual dress code. This role will
routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing
cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
