As an Enterprise Infrastructure Monitoring Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing real-time monitoring solutions that provide actionable insights across on-premises and cloud environments. Your work will ensure early detection of performance issues, proactive incident resolution, and compliance with security policies. By leveraging industry-leading monitoring tools, you will help maintain 99.99% system uptime, supporting mission-critical Census operations without disruption. Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Windows Server and RHEL environments, ensuring availability and compliance.
- Deploy and configure VMware virtual machines, snapshots, and templates.
- Implement system security baselines and patching strategies using Red Hat Satellite Server and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Support disaster recovery exercises, data backup validation, and failover testing.
- Maintain IT asset and configuration management repositories, documenting baselines and deviations.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and end-user support for on-prem and hybrid cloud environments.
- Monitor and respond to infrastructure alerts and ensure integration with EOC monitoring tools.
- Develop automation scripts and Ansible playbooks for routine administrative tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in managing data centers, modernization environments, or similar work experience.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to solve complex technical challenges
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance as required for program performance and access to sensitive information.
- Supporting Microsoft and Linux systems physical and virtual builds and skills to modify web-related settings via CLI
- Providing system or application administration for web-based applications and web-based COTS products
- Experience with SQL Server database administration
- Experience with web server configuration (IIS, NGINX, Apache)
- Resolving application and system software problems
- Evaluating and recommending hardware/software enhancements as needed including management of system updates and patches
- Experience with the interpretation and remediation of industry standard security findings and vulnerabilities
- Experience troubleshooting configuration and integration issues in development, test and production environments
- Experience creating of a variety of scripts
- Monitoring and optimizing system performance
- Configuring security on supported platforms, researching security issues / warning notifications for applicability and implementing patches and fixes
- Interfacing with developers and security team members to address scan findings
- Performing scheduled and allocated work, providing guidance on modernization initiatives, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and financial objectives
- Maintain existing systems by analyzing, designing, and implementing changes to the system baselines so that baseline changes meet customer requirements. You will also work with upcoming technology refresh projects
- Contribute to operational and system support documentation in accordance with the program’s configuration management procedures, regularly notifying the team lead when problems or issues arise that are outside the normal scope of work are other activities you will get to support
