Overview
Ignite Retail Technology seeks a Principal Fullstack Software Engineer to join our mission crew, for an on-site, full-time role in Twin Falls, ID. As a Principal Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership, drive architectural decisions, and set standards across the organization. You will design, develop, and maintain secure, interconnected applications, guided by enterprise integration patterns like workflows, Sagas, and CQRS. Reporting to an Engineering leader, you'll collaborate closely with business analysts, product managers, UI / UX designers, and engineers, mentoring others and contributing to long-term technical strategy while overseeing major projects and ensuring high code quality.
Key Responsibilities

- Set and enforce coding standards and best practices across teams
- Mentor and guide mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software solutions that meet business requirements
- Oversee the technical aspects of major projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
- Innovate and explore new technologies to improve development efficiency and product capabilities
- Manage and mitigate technical risks in projects, ensuring robust and reliable system designs
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills and ExperienceProven experience in a Principal or Senior Software Engineer role, with a focus on fullstack developmentExpert TypeScript Developer with significant experience in front-end frameworks like ReactJS and NodeJS frameworks like ExpressJS, RedwoodJS, etc.Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, including microservices, CQRS, and event-driven architecturesExperience with enterprise integration patterns like workflows, Sagas, and CQRSHands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practicesExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical challengesLeadership and CommunicationStrong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of fostering team growthEffective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence decision-makingSecurity and Web Application ExpertiseExtensive knowledge of web application security principles, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation strategiesProficiency in implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth 2.0, JWT)Experience with secure coding practices, threat modeling, and conducting security code reviewsFamiliarity with identity management systems and federated identity protocolsSoftware Quality and TestingExtensive experience in designing and implementing comprehensive testing strategies for complex software systemsProficiency in various testing methodologies including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testingDemonstrated ability to set up and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI / CD) pipelinesStrong understanding of test automation frameworks and toolsExperience in performance testing and optimizationAbility to mentor junior engineers in best practices for writing testable code and creating effective test suitesEducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experienceOur Values
