What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Ignited Recruiting?
Our client, a publicly traded biotech company, is looking for a Staff Accountant. Public accounting experience highly preferred. In lieu of public accounting experience, current work experience at a publicly traded company is desirable too.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring proper classification, cut-off, accuracy, and completeness.
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the financial close process.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, meeting internal deadlines.
- Assist in preparing schedules and providing information for financial reporting and internal/external audits.
- Follow established accounting processes and maintain internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 2 years of experience in Big Four/mid term firm or a publicly traded company.
- CPA in progress or CPA license is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel & Word.

Compensation will range form $75-85K base salary plus RSUs and discretionary cash bonus.
