    Job Summary

    Under direction of the Director Business Operations, Public Plans, the Project Manager is responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination and implementation of regulatory and product related projects that support the Tufts Health Public Plans (THPP) Product Management goals and objectives. The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of initiation and project planning, execution and monitoring of project deliverables, facilitation of meetings, identification and management of project issues and risk, and management of communication plans. The Project Manager must have the ability to clearly articulate project status, issues, and risks, develop recommendations and present proposals. The Project Manager works with the Product Managers and other professionals throughout the organization to support current business needs and priorities.

    Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

    Project Initiation

    • Consult with key project team members, including stakeholders, to define project goals, objectives, and scope
    • Creates a detailed project work plan and accurately estimate and plan resource usage
    • Identify and engage appropriate team resources/subject matter experts
    • Ensure that projects are structured to deliver outcomes that are aligned with goals and objectives

    Manage all phases of the project to ensure goals and objectives are met within the established timeline, scope and budget.

    • Oversee and facilitate project team meetings and prepare status documents
    • Manage issues and risks effectively in order to resolve roadblocks to project progress.
    • Engage stakeholders and facilitate discussions to resolve project issues to best meet the project and objectives
    • Ensure that a communication plan is in place and is actively managed through all stages of the project

    Lead cross-functional team members on projects.

    • Collaborate effectively with IT counterparts
    • Collaborate effectively with outside vendors, as required
    • Effectively manage difficult group dynamics to effectively reach a positive outcome.
    • Instruct and coach team members in Project Management approach

    Collaborate closely with the product managers and other management.

    • Assist with the development of updates for steering committees and other stakeholder groups
    • Determine which decisions, issues and risks need to be escalated; ensure that follow up is documented communicated to the project teams.

    Coordinate project close out activities, such as lessons learned and transition plans.

      Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

      EDUCATION: (Minimum educations & certifications required)

      Bachelors Degree required, preferably in health care management, business or related field.

       

      EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)

      Five to eight years of combined experience in a business environment, preferably healthcare industry.

      Two to five years of Project Management experience is required.

       

      SKILL REQUIREMENTS: (Include interpersonal skills)

      Knowledge of project management concepts and applications preferably obtained through a formal training program.

      Proficiency in use of computers specifically Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project and Visio.
