Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and reporting standards.
- Scope of work: ALL USA companies
- Preliminary work for group reporting
- Reclassification of Balancete accounts in Tagetik account format (group chart of accounts).
- Deep understanding of the Group Accounting Policies. Proactive approach in analyzing unidentified differences and agreeing on the most appropriate accounting treatment with Group Management.
- Surfaces Group is adopting IAS/IFRS in 2024. All subsidiaries will need to prepare reconciliation entries between Local GAAP and IFRS and post them in Tagetik.
- Booklet – monthly management accounting report with Budget / Actual / Previous year analysis
- Monthly Trial balance reports (P&L plus BS plus cash flow and Profit and Loss with details by BU)
- Comparison with budget/forecast/PY data
- Trial balance details on Group accounts
- Operating cost reclassification by nature and area, with NRI recognition and intercompany recharge detail
- Non recurrent Item recognition and detail by nature and period
- Personnel cost by function report plus monthly FTE (average and final) details and NRI recognition
- Other – monthly management accounting report
- Monthly Sales details and analysis, including Intercompany details and BU analysis plus reconciliation with accounting balances
- Sales Price variance analysis by BU, Customer group and SKU level
- Gross profit and Margin analysis with detail of BU Customer group and sales category
- Inventory stock recognition by BU and account, monthly stock adjustment entries
- Purchase price variance analysis by BU, item group and customer group with index and trend analysis
- NFP Monthly report
- Monthly compilation of NFP template (bank balances, CAPEX, Taxes paid, Interest paid and collected, foreign exchange differences). Activity to be performed with the Balance sheet of the reporting month. The most complex activity is usually related to CAPEX, because in the case of acquisitions/sales, it is necessary to verify any cash movements.
- Upon request by the Group, preparation of cashflow forecast for Group Cash Management purposes.
- Quarterly Tagetik report
- Entering manual entries. Some entries are to be made for each closing and company, such as inventories to P&L, goods-in-transit allocations, reversal of goods-in-transit at 12/31, breakdown of revenues between third parties and ICOs;
- Reconstruction of fixed asset movements for the reporting period, including breakdown of depreciation from P&L into the various categories
- Reconstruction of movements related to Financial Investments for the reporting period
- Reconstruction of movements related to equity for the reporting period
- Intercompany reconciliations: to complete ALL the packages and consequently consider the activity completed, deep understanding of the Trial balance of all USA companies is required; it is often necessary to understand which of the 2 companies may have recorded the figure differently, by analyzing trial balance, and verify with Group management and ICO counterparts the correct reconciliation of the value. If there are revenues/costs with other companies outside USA, it is necessary to get reconfirmation of the balances from the individual legal entities.
- Breakdown of inventories between ICO and third-party inventories; starting from the details of inventories, identifying material from group companies.
- YTD Cashflow analysis.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
