GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Supply Chain Manager at igus oversees the entire supply chain, including logistics, procurement, and vendor management. Their role is crucial in ensuring efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of parts, products, and services while optimizing processes and ensuring sustainability. This involves managing suppliers, maintaining optimal inventory levels, forecasting demand, and coordinating logistics. Additionally, the manager works towards igus's corporate goals of achieving a CO2-neutral footprint and zero plastic waste by reducing environmental impact through optimized routes, eco-friendly packaging, and sourcing sustainable materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing procurement through the selection and evaluation of suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials, complying with all state, federal, and international guidelines, and negotiating contracts and pricing.

Maintain optimal stock levels to meet production or customer demand while avoiding excess inventory costs. Applying Demand segmentation and other inventory management principles.

Analyze market trends and sales data to predict customer demand and adjust supply plans accordingly. Establish a vendor and inventory forecasting process at igus.

Organize the storage, handling, and transportation of goods including import processes.

Plan and oversee the movement of goods, whether by land, sea, or air. This includes managing shipping schedules, routes, and costs.

Identify potential disruptions in the supply chain (such as natural disasters, transportation issues, or regulatory changes) and developing contingency plans.

Evaluate and improve processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.

Work with and train on software systems (such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to automate and streamline operations.

Work closely with other departments, such as production, product management, marketing, finance, and sales, to ensure smooth operations.

Managing teams of purchasing, planning, logistics professionals and warehouse staff.

Ensuring that team members are trained in the latest supply chain trends, technologies, and safety practices.
REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.

5-7 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, often including supervisory or leadership roles.

Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Strong ability to negotiate, collaborate, and communicate with suppliers, internal teams, and customers.

Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.

Understanding of international trade regulations, customs, and compliance issues.

Experienced knowledge with MS360, Power BI, ERP, (info LN) WMS (Factory Track), and other supply chain software.

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD), or Six Sigma can be beneficial.
