What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipper (Second Shift) position at igus?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
This position requires the employee to perform efficiently in a warehouse and dispatch environment by handling outgoing deliveries and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Transports product to and from designated areas in the facility
Load outgoing deliveries
Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility
Enter outgoing shipments into igus system
Check loads are secure
Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery
Obtain and process product orders
Schedule large LTL and DHL Shipments and plan logistics
Keep files of goods shipped
Using various shipping company computer systems to print appropriate shipping labels for outgoing orders
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Perform other duties as requested by Team Leader, Production Supervisor or Manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Manual dexterity and good eyesight are required
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma or GED required
Prefer candidates with forklift operation experience
Reliable attendance record
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Must be available and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to satisfy customer needs
Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
