IHMVCU is seeking a knowledgeable Core Banking Experience Product Owner to join the team in our headquarters in Moline, IL. This position will enjoy a hybrid work schedule allowing collaboration both in office and remotely.
The successful candidate should have the following skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from college or university; Business or other related field preferred
- Ten (10 ) years of Financial Institution or Financial Technology experience
- Five (5 ) years as Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or equivalent role.
- Experience working with all levels of staff, management, and vendors
- Experience managing or working with a core banking platform - Preferred Experience conducting or participating in voice of user sessions
- - Preferred Experience with vendor management

Summary of the Position:
As a Product Owner in the digital organization, you will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership and support of the core banking platform, core banking user experience, and core enabled digital services. This role will take a focused approach to voice of the user with core banking stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve our employee experience. This role will make decisions from a member-centric point of view in which the member (or user) is placed at the center of every decision. This role will lead delivery of core banking platform enhancements, own various operational processes, find technological ways to improve core-based processes, and take the lead on incident and problem resolution for core enabled digital products and services. This role will create and maintain metrics and ensure successful backlog delivery aligns with the strategic roadmap and strategic direction of our digital organization.
What are some of the job responsibilities?
- Ensure new product development and existing product enhancements are frequent and align with credit union resources, philosophy, member needs, and strategies.
- Provide recommendations for enhancements, eliminations, improvement actions, and new revenue opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and demonstrate intricate understanding of product Technology, product descriptions, features, and operations; including how the product functions from start to finish.
- Monitor industry trends. Research existing, new, and emerging products. Providing recommendations to keep IHMVCU digital banking platform up-to-date.
- Ensure Product enhancements are driven by a member-centric mindset in which the member (or user) is placed at the center of every decision.
- Manage software releases and ensure product release notes are distributed and understood across the organization.
- Maintain robust Product Documentation to include, Roadmap, Agile Backlog (Features, user stories) Data Flow Diagrams, Product Canvas, Process Flows, user acceptance testing documentation, Total cost of ownership tracking, etc.
- Manage vendor relationships; such as contracts, invoicing, recommendations for changes to technology, upgrade/downtime communication, feature/functionality, and escalated product support.
- Lead support of core enabled digital products and services as Tier 3 escalation point, troubleshoot issues, contact vendor for assistance, if required, and communicate to organization when outages of vendor hosted applications/products effect IHMVCU or its Members
