Job Description
The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Controller and will primarily be responsible for preparing, recording, and administering Accounts Payable, General Ledger and assisting with other financial reporting processes. Based on the duties described below, this is a part-time, non-exempt position with some benefits.
Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Recording financial transactions into the company's accounting system accurately and promptly.
- Accounts payable: Processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payment of bills.
- Accounts receivable: Recording customer payments, reconciling customer accounts, and following up on past-due payments.
- Bank reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Budget preparation: Assisting with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Internal control: Maintain internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Auditing: Assisting with internal and external audits, as needed.
- Notable projects: Assisting with special projects, as needed, including financial analysis, cost analysis, and process improvement.
- Filing: Organizing and filing financial documents, such as tax returns and other legal reports, in a secure and easy-to-access manner.
- Customer Service: Responding to customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and providing general customer support professionally and courteously.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills are necessary.
- Attention to detail with accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must have a "hands-on" approach to all tasks required to be completed.
