Performs all work and learning assignments related to the cybersecurity apprentice team assignment, and areas of focus of that team. Remote/hybrid work - we may hire out of state workers where state laws allow. Cybersecurity Apprentice applicants must be sponsored by Apprenti. Job Functions GRC – Contributes in and learns about developing security related policies and procedures, identifying cybersecurity risks, and creating business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Identity & Access Management – Assists in and learns from Cybersecurity Analysts in identity lifecycle and access management practices, and in the delivery of authentication services. Security Operations – Assists in and learns about the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of new cybersecurity solutions and of any enhancements to existing solutions. Fusion Center – Assists Cybersecurity analysts in and learns about security monitoring, hunting for cyber threats, and assessing cyber vulnerabilities. Minimum Qualifications Cybersecurity Apprentice applicants must be sponsored by Apprenti. Required skills: Communication Time management Accountability and reliability Professionalism Broadened perspective Collaboration (group work) Critical thinking and problem solving Completion of High School Diploma or GED - OR – Ability to complete GED within 12 months Preferred Qualifications Awareness of Cybersecurity methods and techniques of information systems. Identity Good troubleshooting skills Basic scripting capabilities including PowerShell, Linux shell, Java, or other languages Fusion Center CompTIA A type skills General understanding of computer/network administration practices Preferred onsite work in the Security Operations Center GRC Awareness of cybersecurity methods and techniques of information systems Pursuing a cybersecurity industry certification Security Operations Active Directory Windows Server System administration Perimeter Basic networking and security understanding Knowledge of TCP/IP addressing Troubleshooting skills Linux command line experience Basic scripting skills is a plus Pursuing a cybersecurity industry certification Examples of relevant certifications: CompTIA Security Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) GIAC Certified Penetration Tester GSEC: SANS GIAC Security Essentials ISACA CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Physical Requirements: Location: Lake Park Building Work City: West Valley City Work State: Utah Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 The hourly range for this position is listed below.
