Job Description
As a skilled morning broadcast producer, you will assist with the planning and production of live and pre-recorded radio shows featuring news, music, talk, sports, traffic and feature productions.
You will produce the WGY morning show and assist programming execution in the market, researching information, obtaining materials, and assisting with contacting and scheduling guests.
You will give direction to presenters, content providers, assistants, and other crew members, follow local news and events, and be aware of community activity.
Additionally, you will obtain permission or licenses for recording or broadcasting on location, and for the use of music, sound effects, and audio archive material.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working in the broadcast industry and/or audio automation systems.
- A creative mindset with the ability to formulate and communicate original ideas.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills; ability to tailor and adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
- Knowledge of the radio market, different station/program styles, audience demographics.
- Experience using a variety of recording equipment and operating a radio studio.
- Ability to build rapport and draw information from people.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint as well as social media platforms.
Work Environment
As a full-time hourly employee, you will work early mornings starting at 4:30am. You will collaborate with presenters, performers, or other program contributors to perform quality assurance to meet established production standards, rules, and regulations.
