Job Description IHI Power Service Corp. (IPSC) has a career opportunity for an Instrument Controls & Electric Technician (IC& E) at the Rainer plant in Moses Lake, WA.  Hourly range for the position is $50.00 - $54.00 per hour, depending on experience.    Job Summary The Instrument Controls & Electric Technician (IC & E) will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment that drive our jet fuel and decarbonization processes. Perform work of high skill in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems as well as experience with utilizing computerized maintenance management systems to plan, track and capture historical maintenance activities. This position requires expertise in automation, process control systems, and industrial instrumentation, ensuring reliable plant operations while meeting strict safety and environmental standards.   Job Functions Instrumentation & Controls: Maintain plant field instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment in excellent working order by performing maintenance and repair as necessary. Establish and conduct a precise plant instrumentation calibration program and maintains all calibration records as per regulatory requirements. Perform plant preventive and predictive maintenance as assigned in a precise and accurate manner; collect trended data on equipment as directed by the Operations & Maintenance Manager. Accept first line responsibility for field instrumentation, calibration, control valves, and systems as designated by Operations & Maintenance Manager. Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of field instrumentation, including flow meters, pressure sensors, temperature gauges, and analytical equipment. Implement control strategies to enhance production efficiency and system reliability. Support real-time monitoring and adjustments to ensure optimal operation of decarbonization and fuel production processes. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process improvements and system upgrades.   Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards for process control and instrumentation. Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and industry guidelines. Maintain, evaluate and make recommendations on improving plant spare parts inventory. Monitor applicable spare parts as they are used and reorder as necessary. Service and maintain plant electrical equipment in accordance with vendor recommendations and plant established procedures. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of plant logic and control schemes,  troubleshoot the systems utilizing drawings and diagrams. Be familiar with plant manuals, systems descriptions, operating procedures and emergency response plans and be able to access them when needed. Respond immediately to plant operating and safety emergencies When needed, assist in off-loading plant chemicals, oils, and other deliveries adhering to all plant safety guidelines. Interface with outside contractors and vendors on an as-needed basis Keep CRO informed of activities and plant conditions in a timely manner. Identify and diagnose plant equipment problems and adjust/correct within skill capabilities.  Monitor assigned equipment problems and adjust/correct within skill capabilities. Maintain work areas and tools in a clean and orderly manner. Perform electronic and electrical troubleshooting and testing. Inspect, assemble, disassemble, repair and adjust all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems and storage batteries.   Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Associated Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Engineering or equivalent in in power plant, energy, aviation, or chemical processing industry; or relevant related experience. 5 years’ experience in instrumentation/controls/electrical test equipment and electrical maintenance in power plant, energy, aviation, or chemical processing industries. Knowledge of plant equipment such as motors, pumps, boilers, turbines, generators, fluid systems, chemical handling, water treatment systems, cooling towers, pollution control equipment (i.e. dust suppression, bag house, scrubber, selective catalytic reduction unit), AC and DC electrical distribution and controls systems, etc. Two years of operating loaders, tractors, forklift and other light and/or heavy equipment. Basic understanding of fundamental principles of mathematics, AC and DC electrical theory, heat transfer and fluid flow, thermodynamics, chemistry, and metallurgy. Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings such as P&IDs, single line diagrams, schematics and logic. Knowledge of  plant safety, especially in areas such as chemical handling, high energy systems, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, first aid, rotating machinery, heavy equipment operations, etc. Ability to operate valves, switches, controls, keyboards, and other devices associated with  plant equipment, as well as basic hand tools, portable electric and pneumatic tools, rigging equipment and other implements.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems and storage batteries. Expertise in industrial instrumentation, process control, and automation systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for instrumentation and control systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and process control schematics. Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools. Must be cooperative with those he/she contacts in this work and can work without direct supervision. Must know the hazards involved and the safety precautions to be practiced in the operation and maintenance of  plant equipment and machinery. Must be able to respond to audio alarms and variations of sound. Work as a team. Must be able to pool our knowledge and energy to work in tandem to completely understand and productively respond to all the business challenges.   Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.   Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, air masks, hearing protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and other equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties. Work with hazardous materials may be required. Although predominately indoors, may include working outdoors. All employees must observe the facilities’ security requirements. Salary : $50 - $54
