IHI Power Service Corp. (IPSC) has a career opportunity for an Operations & Maintenance Mechanic [(O&M Technician (Mechanic)] in o ur Springdale, PA plant.
Job Summary
The O&M Technician position is a multi-skilled operations and maintenance position that performs work associated with various disciplines within the assigned facilities (operation, electrical, instrument, and mechanical). The position is cross-functional to provide flexibility.
Job Functions
The following is a list of representative duties that indicate the level of work an employee will be expected to perform. It is by no means a detailed list of all duties to be performed.
- Monitors, inspects, adjusts, operates, and controls certain power production, auxiliary, and facility equipment to ensure safe, legal, reliable, and efficient operation.
- Checks, and reports on all phases of the operation for difficulties or irregularities.
- Conducts duties in a manner to comply with environmental laws, regulations and policies.
- Assesses equipment condition through inspections, testing, and diagnostic tools.
- Performs mechanical, electrical, and instrument maintenance and reports on repairs to assigned equipment.
- Trains others in the inspection, repair, and operation of the facility.
- Keeps assigned work areas clean at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Hours
Normally, a 12-hour rotating schedule. Overtime as required. In addition, work schedule may be changed based on operational needs.
NORMAL SOURCE OF EMPLOYEES :
When a vacancy is determined in this job classification, it will be advertised and filled in accordance with the provisions of the Springdale addendum to the General Labor Agreement.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

WAGE RATE DETERMINATION :
An employee's wage rate for this classification is based on qualifications as determined by
Management (which shall include evaluation by Review Board and demonstration).
NOTE :
Employees entering the CC Technician (Level l-2) classification will normally enter in at the minimum rate. Any employee unable to perform all of the requisite duties of the job within a three (3) year period will be required to move out of the classification to an available position in accordance with the GLA.
