Job Summary
As a Maintenance Planner / Safety Person at Manchester Street Station, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Combined Cycle power plant. Your primary responsibility will be to support the plant maintenance department by assisting with the planning and execution of larger projects and outages, ensuring that these initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all established safety and regulatory protocols. In addition to your planning responsibilities, you will act as the plant’s safety leader and liaison, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Job Functions
- Project and Outage Planning:
- Develop, schedule, and track project and outage plans for major maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, operations, engineering, and procurement) to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Monitor progress against project milestones and report any deviations to management for corrective action.
- Primary contact for related vendors and perform supervision of related vendors.
- Safety Leadership and Compliance:
- Serve as the safety liaison by enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Active in safety meetings and training sessions to promote best practices among staff.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets related to major maintenance projects.
- Track resource allocation and ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Provide input on cost control measures and process improvements.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, project status, and safety initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and documentation to management and external stakeholders.
- Act as the central point of contact for all maintenance planning and safety-related inquiries.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and improved efficiency in project execution and safety practices.

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Education:
- Associate degree or equivalent education that includes directly related trade, vocational, or planning and scheduling training.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning, project management, or a similar role within a power plant or industrial environment.
- Proven experience with safety protocols and compliance in an industrial setting.
- Experience working in a Combined Cycle power plant is an asset.
- Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance planning, project management principles, and outage management.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, risk assessment procedures, and compliance requirements for power plants.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and resource management related to large-scale projects.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical skills to assess project progress and implement corrective actions effectively.
