What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Subassembly Lead Engineer for High Speed Transceivers position at II-VI Incorporated?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- This is a lead engineer position responsible for designing and developing OSA (Optical Sub-Assembly) for highspeed fiber optics transceivers with high performance and high manufacturability.
- Working closely with the transceiver module engineering group to develop and define the OSA architecture, as well as optical, mechanical, RF design, process, and test engineers in OSA organization.
- Familiar with active components such as laser diode, PIN, PIC, etc. Work closely with both internal and external active / passive component suppliers to develop the necessary lasers, PDs, ASICs, PICs and passive optical components. Develop and define the specifications for these subcomponents used in the OSA design.
- Specify the development / production test requirements. Hands-on experience on optoelectronic device test to understand performance and reliability corners.
- Work with program management and various divisions within the company to coordinate program schedule.
