What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at II-VI Incorporated?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintaining an effective quality system, developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures
- Maintaining RMA system with a focus on determining roots cause of returns and speed of execution on implementing solutions
- Performing and responding to quality audits and facilitate corrective action and process improvements based upon the audit results with active between quality and production teams
- Product quality evaluation to ensure compliance of shipped products to customer and internal requirements
- Maintaining Incoming Inspection function in MS and provide timely reports
- Responsible for calibration programs in MS
- Controlling nonconforming material in MS
- Assisting production and engineering personnel to ensure delivery of quality products.
- Supporting corporate-wide quality initiatives and projects and the application of quality tools and methods, such as FMEA and SPC
- Championing continuous improvement programs and initiatives
- Plan, promote, and organize training of manufacturing team on all aspects of the quality system
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and third party auditors on a variety of topics
- Reporting to top management on the performance of the QMS in MS site and any need for improvement as required.

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.
Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
Quality and Environmental Responsibilities
Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9001, 14001 and / or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
