What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director of Engineering position at II-VI Incorporated?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide engineering / technical leadership on the advanced fiber optics development of the Coherent’s datacom business unit, with special emphasis on the high density datacom optics, such as CPO, NPO, and optical engines.
- Provide engineering leadership and work together with corporate technology team, marketing team, and multiple function groups / design centers to develop new product roadmap and define technology development strategy.
- Drive the development of new technology platforms for the next generation of advanced optical transceiver products.
- Direct advanced product development and drive the NPI and customer qualification process for successfully commercialization.
- Provide leadership and as key interface with key suppliers, both internal and external, of critical components, such as laser / modulator, packaging, and key ASICs, on the development of advanced components for the next gen transceivers.
- Understand and influence the industry direction / trend through interaction with customers and various standard bodies and MSA groups.
