What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Engineer, Software Test Development position at II-VI UK, Ltd.?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Designing and coding low level software drivers (embedded firmware) in C / C , C#, VB.NET for in-house designed test boards and instruments
- Integrate new boards to software architecture of proprietary test execution framework
- Designing VB.NET code for analysis of data acquired from automated testers
- Closely cooperate with hardware designer on debugging new instruments / boards
- Release the new instruments / boards to production, lead qualification process
- Working with basic and advanced lab equipment (Power supplies, oscilloscopes, Power meters, Spectrum Analyzers, …)
- Define requirements for automated testing of in-house designed instruments / boards
- Improving test throughput and yield
- Qualifying automated testers by collecting and statistically analyzing parametric data
- Documenting test procedures and control processes in Agile
