We are seeking diligent, reliable, and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Heavy Equipment Mechanics. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various brands and types of heavy equipment. This includes electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics, parts inventory management, ordering, report writing, and scheduling.
This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions. We strictly adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards in the Metals Recycling Business.
Responsibilities for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic :
- Perform basic to moderately complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for fuel, electrical, mechanical, brake, cooling, and hydraulic systems on various equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks (oil and filter changes, lubrication, brake servicing, etc.) on all heavy equipment following manufacturer and company recommendations.
- Maintain accurate service records for all work performed.
- Order and manage spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate with yard General Managers to schedule routine or emergency maintenance or repairs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working area.
- Ensure the safe and proper use of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Perform all tasks in full compliance with safety and environmental practices and procedures.
