Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their team.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical, structural, and fluid systems in various projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Engineering & Design:
• Design and develop mechanical, structural, and fluid systems for fabrication projects.
• Create detailed prints and drawings using AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Ensure all designs meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Project Execution & Customer Interface:
• Coordinate project requirements and schedules with management.
• Work directly with customers and suppliers to define design specifications.
• Oversee system startup and commissioning to ensure proper functionality.
• Process Improvement & Business Development:
• Assist in generating proposals and quotations for new and existing customers.
• Support preliminary engineering and design efforts to develop new projects.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
• Work closely with the CAD Department and panel shop to ensure accurate designs.
• Maintain detailed weekly documentation of project tasks and hours.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred) OR equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3 years of experience in mechanical, structural, or fluid system engineering.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar design software.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, mechanical design, and fluid systems.
• Ability to coordinate system commissioning and startup processes.
• Soft Skills & Additional Requirements:
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to relocate to Iowa (relocation assistance available).

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary:up to $120,000 per year (based on experience)
