What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wrecker Operator position at Ikard Towing & Sales Inc.?
We are an emergency towing company in Middle Tennessee open everyday of the year. We are contracted by multiple police entities, private property owners, and account customers, while also serving everyday customers who call us in their time of need. We offer a range of towing and recovery services, including light, medium, and heavy-duty towing, as well as equipment hauling and HAZMAT cleanup. We are a drug free workplace, you must be able to pass a drug test and background check to be employed by us. Must have CDL or Class F and clean MVR. Looking for motivated individuals that are motivated and driven to get ahead in life. The job will include being on call. However, you will be local and home every night.
Responsibilities & Job Summary:
- Be dispatched to different areas to retrieve stranded vehicles and passengers
- Tow vehicles back to automotive shop or other locations desired by clients
- Performing tire changes, lockouts, fuel deliveries & jump starts.
- Use hand tools, winches, tow lines, lifting devices and tie downs; operate tow trucks
- Perform physical demands of position, which include kneeling, squatting, reaching, bending, and repetitive use of hands, arms and legs
- Driving professionally, providing the best service possible
- Updating management in regards to truck maintenance needs every week
- Demonstrate dependability and a good work ethic
- Answering calls from dispatch about customer/client location and ETA
- Pre-tripping and post-tripping your truck daily using our inspection app
- Taking payment via credit/debit card using a company issued card reader
- Interacting with customers/clients in a professional manner
- Showing up to work every day with a clean uniform and following personal hygiene standards to look as professional as possible for our customers/clients
- Taking photos of the vehicles, you tow before and after they are loaded onto your truck and uploading them to dispatching software to document the condition of the vehicle while it was in our care
Pay is based on experience. 40 hours min, OT after 40.
