IKAV Energy Inc is looking for a proven successful leader who will be accountable for ensuring our financials accurately depict business performance. This will be achieved through management of the following activities:
Summary
Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible for all areas relating to general accounting and financial reporting. The Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager duties will include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining accounting policies and best practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position implements best practices and ensures general ledger and accounting methods adhere to US GAAP. This position will review accounting processes and procedures, company controls, and compliance measures to determine any potential hazards or breaches of conduct. This role will also provide support to the members of the Financial Accounting and Reporting team in addition to the broader organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage preparation and distribution of timely and accurate quarterly and annual financial statements for internal and external use in accordance with US GAAP
- Accountability for preparation and delivery of annual budget with monthly analysis to actuals and forecast schedules for capital expenditures, LOE and G&A
- Preparation, review and approval of journal entries; Ensure quality supporting schedules which form the basis of our financial statements and disclosures
- Coordinate with other teams to gather support for operational disclosures
- Manage annual audits across multiple entities with external auditors
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close schedule, including preparation of internal financial statements, analytical review of financial statements for accuracy and insights, and account reconciliations
- Accountability for asset properties and associated taxes, including ad valorem and corporate taxes, in conjunction with operational accounting teams, and working with tax provider on needed information and submissions
- Drive, create and oversee accounting policy and technical financial accounting methodology for DD&A, ARO, FX, hedging, lease accounting, debt, implementation of new partner contracts, related party transactions, new business transactions, and special non-recurring transactions
- Ensure appropriate implementation, compliance and documentation of internal controls

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant designation
- US GAAP experience with strong technical accounting and analysis skills
- COPAS exposure
- 10 years or more of accounting, planning, and reporting experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ related supervisor work and experience in oil and gas industry
- Flexibility to grow and change with company needs including the ability to work independently and with a team
