What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Lab Chemist position at IKI Manufacturing?
We are seeking an experienced chemist to join our team in our brand new, fast paced production lab. This position is integral in assisting the team to meet quality and production goals. Successful candidate must have experience with developing and programming test methods, along with the ability to perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Exact pay will be based on candidate skills, education, and experience related to the job description. Relocation assistance availabele. Fully onsite position.
Hours : M-F approximately 7am-4pm.
Reports to : Director of Quality
Summary : The Quality Lab Chemist will support the manufacturing process by performing laboratory analysis of raw materials and finished goods, developing and documenting new test methods and working with customers on production trials. The Quality Lab Chemist will be the instrumentation expert supporting calibration, maintenance and test method implementation.
Responsibilities :
- Support the transfer of customer test methods to our GC, HPLC and FT-IR instrumentation
- Perform raw material, batch release and finished goods testing to ensure quality control on all manufactured goods
- Prioritize workload and schedule testing to meet production and distribution plans
- Develop and modify standard operating procedures for the use of laboratory equipment
- Complete the required preventative maintenance on instrumentation, and schedule calibrations of laboratory equipment
- Support customer trials as needed
- Document test results in written and electronic format
- Train other lab personnel on test methods and laboratory instruments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
Work Environment : Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals. Proper PPE must be worn, and safety precautions must be followed.
Physical Demands : Stands 75%, sits 25%, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
