What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waiter/Waitress position at ikigai (sushi-ya and shokudo)?
ikigai is a sushi-ya and shokudo in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. We're seeking an experienced part-time server with a flexible work schedule and availability.
Requirements:
- Food Handler Card
- RBS Card (Responsible Beverage Service)
- Previous Japanese restaurant experience highly preferred
- Flexible work schedule required
Tasks/Responsibilities include:
- Greet and welcome customers in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
- Create a warm, friendly dining environment
- Neat appearance and proper work attire - black/plain t-shirt or longsleeve, pants, shoes
- Take and serve food orders
- Use Toast POS system
- Have a detailed understanding of the menu
- Answer and address customers’ questions/concerns accurately and politely
- Anticipate customers’ needs
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area and workstation
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Work effectively with other staff members in a helpful and polite manner
- Comply with required food handling and workplace safety procedures
