Job Description
One of the key roles of the loader / operator is to assure safe loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products. Must be committed to safe forklift operation and have the ability to work from a pick list.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ability to safely operate a stand up and sit down forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification
- Must be comfortable working outside in the elements
- Communicate with drivers to ensure the accuracy of the load as well as safety requirements for loading / unloading materials
- Ability to think on your feet in identifying from the pick list where the material is located either in the yard or warehouse
- Identify where product is located in the yard by utilizing the identifying signs
- Able to use FIFO system correctly to pull pallets for loading
- Guide the truck drivers where they need to go in order to be safely loaded / unloaded
- Must be willing to learn other job duties in shipping and scale house
- Knowledge of railcar unloading process, Track mobile operation and railroad safety
- Must adhere to all IKO safety policies.
