The shipping and receiving coordinator role is responsible for tracking, receiving , inspecting, and recording shipments with raw materials and/or products, ensuring contents and quantities match the corresponding purchase orders. The Shipping Coordinator also preps our products for shipping including coordination of truck pick up, shipping loose materials, and ensuring all paperwork and photos are documented.
Responsibities:
- Collaborate & communicate with procurement, production, and project management staff to list expected deliveries
- Receive bill of lading/shipping documents and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Inspect content of deliveries for accuracy of materials and quantities against the purchase orders, manage returns and damages through the entire process, contact vendors if damages or shortages occur
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments and ensure replacements are ordered and shipped in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory control in Fishbowl (purchase orders, receipts, outbound shipping documentation, etc.)
- Work with production and project management staff to schedule pick-ups from both factories as well as customer product, schedule accordingly based on timelines outlined by the business or client needs
- Prepare outbound freight paperwork including ship loose material
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless shipping process
Candidate requirements:
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- 2-3 years of warehouse experience or construction industry preferred
- Confident judgement and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with inventory software
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Forklift experience preferred
