Position Description for: Trainer
I. Title: Trainer
II. Reports to: Training Institute Director
III. Purpose: To provide training and technical assistance activities on behalf of ICASA
IV. Classification: Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trainer will perform duties related to all ICASA training and technical assistance activities and meetings.
A. Training and Technical Assistance
1. Assess and develop training and technical assistance capacity in response to center requests and/or requirements of funders.
2. Provide on-site and web-based, content-specific training for ICASA Rape Crisis Center staff and allied professionals. Moderate ICASA webinars and virtual trainings as needed.
3. Provide on-site presence at trainings as needed for registration assistance, presenter introductions and assistance, oversight of audio-visual and any on-site issues as they arise.
4. Provide on-site and by e-mail or phone, content-specific technical assistance to centers.
5. Research and identify potential diverse and inclusive presenters and make contact to formally invite and discuss the training with potential trainers once a selection is made. Provide information to support staff to complete confirmation logistics.
6. Assist in promoting, creating and maintaining accessible trainings to the fullest extent possible.
B. Other
1. Participate in ICASA Social Justice and Training Committee and other Committees, Caucuses or Task Forces as needed.
2. Assist with regional meetings as needed.
3. Perform other duties as may be necessary or assigned by the Training Institute Director, Chief of Staff or Chief Executive Officer.
4. Adhere to the philosophy and policies of the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education or related field and/or related experience.
Experience: Experience in training and/or education, training curriculum development, word processing, presentation software and other computer skills.
Job Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in project coordination. Superior organizational skills. Strong writing skills and skills as a presenter. Familiarity with sexual assault issues from a victim-centered feminist perspective.
Other Requirements: The selected candidate will complete ICASA’s 40-hour training. Ability to travel; ability to transport applicable training/audio-visual equipment; have own means of transportation. Overnight travel required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
