What you’ll do: Under the supervision and direction of the pharmacy director, manager, and/or pharmacist, the pharmacy buyer performs a number of purchasing activities. Maintains purchasing inventory responsibilities, reviews and documents usage of high cost and drug shortage inventory, processes returns and restocks pharmacy storage areas. Manages daily medication orders form wholesaler and utilized split-billing software to support hospital 340B program. Optimizes medication inventory levels to avoid stock out situations and reduce waste. Purchases supplies and equipment to support IV compounding needs. Leverages automation and technology for reordering and restocking purposes. Fills hospital floor stock medication requests and ensures appropriate interdepartmental billing records. Ensures local area EMS teams are appropriately restocked to care for patients being brought into the hospital's Emergency Department. Newly licensed technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their CPhT and become licensed as a registered certified pharmacy technician.
