Position Overview
The President of Il Punto provides strategic leadership, oversees organizational operations, and ensures the fulfillment of the organization’s mission. This role involves governance, fundraising, community engagement, and program oversight, working closely with the Board of Directors, volunteers, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
- Lead the organization in alignment with its mission and vision.
- Preside over board meetings, set agendas, and ensure strategic planning.
- Oversee and support the work of board members and committees.
- In collaboration with the Treasurer and Secretary, ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and ethical standards.
Fundraising & Financial Management
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including grant writing, donor relations, and event-based fundraising.
- Oversee the organization’s budget, financial reports, and resource allocation in collaboration with the Treasurer.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant-making entities.
Community Engagement & Program Development
- Represent Il Punto in the local community, building relationships with cultural institutions, businesses, and government entities.
- Oversee and support the development of educational and cultural programs.
- Ensure high-quality execution of events, classes, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Passion for Italian culture, heritage, and community engagement.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or event planning preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
Commitment
- Expected commitment:~5 hours per month, with flexibility based on events participation and projects.
- Volunteer position.
- Board terms typically last for 2-3 years, with the option to leave sooner with notice.
- Term to start on 1/1/2026, or sooner as agreed.
