Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes superior guest service.
- Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
- Responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of the hotel, back of the house storage areas and hotel public areas (lobby, pool).
- Responsible for inspecting each guest room on assigned floors for guest arrival.
- Ensures hotel rooms and bathroom inventory is up to departmental standards.
- Inspects and grades clean guest rooms, back storage rooms and hotel public areas.
- Maintains par level of inventory in the storage areas on a daily basis.
- Determines and advises on repairs or replacements as necessary in assigned areas.
- Updates room status through the property management systems, by phone, radio, and computer.
- Follows established chemical and key control procedures.
- Instructs Housekeepers on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assists with coaching and counseling the housekeeping staff, as needed.
- Maintains records on pending and completed projects throughout the year.
- Assists with recycling efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
- Two (2) years of housekeeping or EVS experience in a hotel or other hospitality environment.
- Must have knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies and chemicals.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
- Must complete full training on chemical usage, MSDS, OSHA regulations, Hazardous Communication, Blood borne pathogens and all other safety regulatory procedures.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Capable of learning and utilizing knowledge of hotel operations systems.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, Word and the rapid response and property management systems.
- Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures,
Preferred Qualifications:
- Housekeeping experience in a 3-4 Diamond hotel preferred.
- Supervisory experience in a hotel or other hospitality environment preferred.
