THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)
As a Human Resource Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization's human resources functions. You will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of HR. As an HR Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and effective onboarding experience for new employees joining the organization. You will play a crucial role in welcoming new hires, introducing them to the company culture, and facilitating their integration into their respective teams. Your role is essential in setting the tone for employees' overall engagement and success within the organization.
Your role will contribute to maintaining a positive work environment, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring that HR processes are executed efficiently and effectively.
This individual will have a proven track record in delivering superior results in a Human Resources role, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential
WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Provide HR support with the ability to answer HR related questions.
Active in ensuring effective communication with staff.
Act as a first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, policies, and procedures.
Ensure new hires complete all necessary paperwork, including employment contracts, tax forms, and benefit enrollment documents.
Verify documentation to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and documentation.
Prepare HR reports and metrics for management to support decision-making.
Collaborate with the Learning Support Team to identify training needs and opportunities.
Assist in organizing training sessions and workshops for employees.
Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
May assist with Coordinating and managing the interview process, including scheduling and communication with candidates.
Conduct reference checks and background screenings for potential hires.
Assist with coordinating offboarding procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information during the onboarding and offboarding process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
Maintain HR files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
All other duties assigned and defined by the designated Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person / Telephone / Computer)

When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)
Bachelor’s Degree and / or a minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources.
Human Resources certification is a plus.
Previous professional personnel experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.
Thrive in a collaborative, team based and fast-paced environment.
Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Ability to thrive and work effectively independently and as a part of a team.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve and multi-task.
Exceptional public speaking skills as well as facilitating group discussions.
