THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)
The Payroll Assistant is responsible for providing support of the payroll process and supporting in any reporting and functions for iLEAD California. The payroll assistant works closely with the payroll coordinator to ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time.
WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Assist in the maintenance of employee payroll records, the computation of payroll data and related employee benefits deductions and insurance vendor payments.
Prepare, audit, monitor and clarify payroll related documents, including time reports, payroll listings, service records and other similar material.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll records and other relevant documents.
Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of leave benefits and State and Federal tax withholding procedures.
Compute and prepare the documents pertaining to quarterly and annual tax reports.
Prepare or coordinate the preparation of annual sick and vacation accumulations reports.
Answer questions relating to payroll information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person / Telephone / Computer)

Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites.

Ability to supervise / manage workers and delegate as needed in project management situations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)
Associate’s Degree or 1 Year experience in a related field.
Human Resources certification is a plus.
Previous professional personnel experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.
Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Mac platform proficient.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve and multi-task.
