COMPENSATION : $28.58 / hour DOE Benefits, Non-Exempt Regular Full-Time Position

SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Copy Cataloger is responsible for performing copy cataloging and some original cataloging for Tuzzy Library and their village branches; book repair and stack maintenance; assist with front desk services (including the circulation and reference desk); and may be assigned anywhere within the library to meet staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform copy cataloging of Tuzzy Library and village libraries using common library standards; edit and / or remove catalog records as needed.
- Manages local processing of items for circulating collections; work and / or train temporary Public Services Library Technicians; and interns on local processing.
- Attend ALC Cataloging working group meetings.
- Conducts all interlibrary loan activities, including receiving, processing, distributing, and returning loaned items to the designated library.
- Compiles interlibrary loan statistics for reporting purposes.
- Provides service at the front desk by : registering new patrons, checking in and out and renewing library materials, assisting in placing holds, answering reference and readers advisory questions, providing assistance with patron computers, etc.
- May train new employees in cataloging, interlibrary loan and book repair policies and procedures as necessary.
- May assist in collection development, assessment and de-selection of existing library materials.
- Update stack signage to reflect new call number ranges in stacks.
- Participate in inventory of the library collection when needed.
- Run reports on the collection including items not inventoried, missing and / or lost materials, etc; and edit materials and catalog records as needed.
- Catalog books on type of repair needed and maintain categories; Repair items as needed; work with Administrative Assistant to process items for bindery; make recommendations for repurchase.
- Maintain equipment and request supplies as needed.
- Train staff on book repair as needed.
- Participate in community outreach activities as needed.
- Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Performs other related duties as required.
