Patent Prosecution Opportunity:
A premium national law firm are looking to onboard a Patent Prosecution Associate to their Chicago office.
The Group:
The Intellectual Property team has experience in all facets of intellectual property law and practice, with each member possessing a unique set of qualifications. Many of the attorneys have worked as scientists or engineers in industry, and others have taught law or authored publications that serve as important reference materials to the profession. The group is established of leading patent professionals, including multiple attorneys with PhDs and several who are CIPP certified.
Qualified candidates would have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant law firm experience.
- Understanding of both writing original patent applications and prosecuting pending applications.
- Knowledge of working with and supervising patent agents or law clerks and professional staffs in preparing and filing documents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Ability to perform extensive critical reviews of patents, patent applications, patent amendments, patent opinions, and other patent-related documents for technical accuracy and full protection of company inventions.
- Needs to demonstrate excellent client communication skills, and client awareness as the successful candidate would be required to have direct contact with clients.
- Passed the patent bar and have a superior technology background.
