Role Description
Illest Environmental is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our team. This is a full-time position based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers and environmental professionals (including directly with Illest Environmental's co-founders) on a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience in environmental compliance, noise and vibration monitoring, site assessments, and more at a rapidly growing firm.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of environmental compliance plans and reports.
- Contribute to permitting processes and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
- Perform noise and vibration monitoring and analysis in support of public infrastructure projects.
- Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and site evaluations.
- Assist with hazardous waste management, water treatment, and site remediation tasks.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure client expectations are met with high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations, compliance, and permitting processes (prior coursework or internships, and 1-2 years of work experience preferred).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Internship or work experience in environmental engineering or related fields is required.
- Completion of coursework in a Fundamentals of Acoustics (or similar course that introduces the physical principles) with a B or better is a plus but not required.
