We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Field Network Technician. As a Field Network Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical consulting, support and maintaining business networks for dozens of small businesses in Central Illinois. You will work alongside a team of technicians under the supervision of a Service Manager.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Field Network Technician. As a Field Network Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical consulting, support and maintaining business networks for dozens of small businesses in Central Illinois. You will work alongside a team of technicians under the supervision of a Service Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Configure and maintain client networks, ensuring security best practices and compliance requirements are met
- Respond to and resolve client IT issues through remote support and on-site visits
- Document all work performed, maintain detailed network diagrams, and update client knowledge bases
- Install and configure workstations, servers, and peripheral devices according to standardized procedures
- Implement and maintain backup solutions, monitoring systems, and security tools
- Provide clear communication to clients regarding technical issues and resolution status
- Collaborate with team members on complex technical issues and escalate when necessary
- Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scanning for client networks
- Configure and maintain VPN solutions for secure remote access
- 3 years of hands-on experience in network administration or technical support
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining network security appliances
- Valid driver's license and Company will provide a vehicle for commuting to customers job sites.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
