DutiesAssists the School District in providing the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student by minimizing absence due to illness. Create a building / District climate of health and wellness.Responsibilities :
- Attends and participates in IEP meetings
- Prepares and submits health data and reports including health histories as required
- Participates with administration and school staff in developing and implementing the total school health program
- Conducts and / or supervises school health screenings
- Supervises identification and referral of students in need of medical and dental care
- Consults with parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics and other agencies on school health matters
- Observe students to detect health needs
- Assists in the development and maintenance of school health policies
- Visits student homes when necessary
- Supervises exclusion and re-admission of students with infectious and contagious diseases
- Provides in-services and advises teachers on health matters, as needed
- Conducts health instruction in the building and other health topics as requested
- Administers any medical treatment and / or medication given to students while attending school
- Complies with federal, state and district policies and procedures pertaining to health issues
- Assumes other responsibilities as assignedWorking Conditions :

- Full-Time Monday - Friday
- School HoursQualifications
- Must possess active IL Registered Nurse License
- Must possess a Type-73 IL Certificate with School Nurse Certification
- Must be CPR / AED Certified
