The Infrastructure Support Analyst is responsible for supporting and maintaining Illinois Central College’s network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to deploying and managing network devices, troubleshooting network issues, conducting surveys to improve connectivity, and supporting various other systems and services. This role also involves collaborating with team members to provide technical insights and recommendations for optimizing the network.
It is expected that on average, at least 10% of the time worked may include overnight, weekends, and holiday projects, and the need to be on call outside of business hours during unplanned events.

- Deploy and support network edge devices, including switches, routers, and other extended peripherals.
- Deploy and support wireless access points, including conducting wireless surveys.
- Assisting with data center infrastructure tasks.
- Support extended network closet equipment.
- Manage DNS records for the infrastructure environment.
- Provided support and assistance with Telecom/VoIP development and deployment.
- Provide support and assistance with Video recording systems.
- Network break-fix operations.
- Keep accurate documentation and inventory of the network infrastructure.
- All general network infrastructure tasks.
- Provide work support to other staff members and have the willingness to work with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in a high-pressure, complex environment.
- Maintain current knowledge of the role and support research and development efforts.
- On the call, required to carry a cellular device
- Other duties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
- Associate in the information technology field with 2 years of related work experience in network infrastructure support Or Five or more years of direct work experience in network infrastructure support.
- Proficient in supporting networking devices (switches, routers, cabling, UPSs, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office/365 applications.
- Proficient in network infrastructure support principles and applications.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of risk analysis, contingency, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
- Applicable certifications: Networking , CCNA, CCNP, HPE/Aruba certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Experience working in higher education.
Salary : $51,106 - $58,760
