What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Bus Driver position at Illinois Central College?
The Bus Driver drives ICC vehicles transporting students, faculty and staff. The Bus Driver reports to the Campus Police Department, but works closely with the Athletics, Academics, and Student Life departments. The Bus Driver drives to and from events such as sporting events and field trips; the schedule is irregular and is on an on-call basis. - Drive groups including students, faculty, and staff to and from events.
- Provide customer service to passengers.
- Ensure all safety regulations and guidelines are met including following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess or obtain a valid CDL Class C License with Passenger Endorsement within 90 days of hire.
- Must have a good driving history that allows for insurability with college vehicles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
- Current CDL Class C License with Passenger Endorsement.
- Airbrake endorsement.
- Experience working as a bus driver or in a related field.
- Experience working in higher education or with students.
