Nursing Program Coordinator

The Illinois College Nursing Program seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to join colleagues dedicated to developing excellent future nurses. This position includes a variety of responsibilities to coordinate the nursing program, including tracking student progress, managing budgets, supporting all program faculty, and maintaining and submitting required reports to the Illinois Board of Nursing and the national accreditor, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Coordinator is a critical team member ensuring the smooth operation and overall excellence of the IC Nursing program.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure program compliance with state and CCNE requirements
• Retain records on program completers and provide verification of completion
• Track students’ progress as they move through the nursing program; checking that they have met all requirements for graduation and eligibility for NCLEX licensure;
• Respond to questions from prospective, current and past students and IC faculty and administration
• Obtain, compile and analyze data on program assessments
• Complete all annual state and federally mandated reports and required audits
• Maintain the Nursing Program handbook and assist in the completion/updating of other manuals and handbooks
• Keep records of faculty expenses and track the budget
• Work closely with the Director of Nursing to set agenda and priorities for bi-monthly department meetings
• Take and write up minutes for department and committee meetings
• Maintain files on all students

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of databases and spreadsheets (especially Excel), electronic reporting, and organization of electronic data
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong word processing data management abilities
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Intercultural competence; ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with and understanding of accreditation and reporting processes and standards preferred
• Ability to deal with confidential information
• Capacity to take initiative where appropriate: a self-starter
