Further, they should have substantial legal experience, ideally in a corporate environment. A person may have roles such as an Associate Lawyer, Senior Legal Counsel, or Partner at a law firm before becoming a General Counsel.
Required Qualifications : Juris Doctor with 7 years of practice. Ability to work at GE HealthCare's Chicago headquarters with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week.
Job Requirements :
- Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
- 5 years experience as a practicing attorney after receiving a law degree.
- 8 years' experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding / experience of the health sector.
Demonstrable experience and skill with a broad range of commercial transactions and related legal issues, at approximately the level of sophistication of a senior associate or junior law firm partner.
The General Counsel also serves as Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
Qualified candidates will have experience supporting Accident & Health insurance business to join their General Counsel's office.
